Counting your Blessings.......

So one of the best ideas we had for the New Year is that we made a Blessings Box!

**Sidenote- pictures today brought to you by New Year's Eve fun- with my cousin Heidi & Mark, Makenna, and Jessa :).
Basically we said everything that you want to say a thank you for, or just say a praise for- write a note and put it in the box.  If you don't know how to write- then ask a sibling or mom or dad and we could help you.
I didn't know how well it would go, but knew that just with Jason and I we could really use this to give extra encouragement to our kids.
Well....it turned out better than I even imagined.  Now I am soooo excited and can't wait to see how many Blessings we can have in our Blessings Box by the end of the year.  I plan on doing something fun with it though and presenting it on New Year's Day or Christmas of this year to the kids.  I just love it when God is sooo GREAT!!!!  :)  Oh and they can put their name on it- or they don't have to that is up to them.
"What I like about Matthew is that we play together and he's funny- Sarah"
"Thank you Andrew for putting your jacket on my when it was raining- Love Mom"
"Me and Matthew are a great team I love him so much- Sarah"
"Praise God we finalized Michael's Adoption"
"Baby joy- who was give pretty much no chance of survival- is now HOME with her family!!!!!!"
"Thank you Sarah for spending time with Michael giving him extra love!"
"Thank you Matthew for sharing your Mac n Cheese with Joanna"
"Praise the Lord Adam and Rachelle get to adopt their girls!!!!!!!!!! (A couple we had met while they were down here for their adoption.  There were more than several "snags" in their adoption process")"
"Thank you Matthew for asking if there was anything else to do!"
"I love my family.  Thank you mom and dad for taking us to Busch Gardens yesterday."
"Thank you Joshua for volunteering to help"
"You guys have been good friends to the neighbor kids."
Abigail, Andrew, Joshua, Matthew, Sarah, and Elizabeth- you guys were polite and said Thank You to Mr. Lance and Mrs. Charla for taking you to the movie- Good Job!"
"I'm happy that we got to adopt Michael finally after all this time."
"I am thankful for my family, food, water, clothing, and air conditioning."
"I got to witness to an old classmate in a FB conversation.  Shared some of my testimony. Mommy"
"You guys did such a great job during the rehearsals and services on Christmas Eve!  Thank you for being quiet and patient and for sitting still when you were on stage.  Mommy and Daddy appreciated it.  Thank You!"
"You guys did a great job at cleaning our house for Michael's adoption party!!!  Well Done!!!"
"Elizabeth - thank you for playing so nicely with Michael"
"Thank you everyone you did a great job cleaning up after Michael's party"
"Loved that Sarah picked up all the toys on New Year's Eve without even being asked"
"Awesome job Abigail on keeping up with our family's laundry!"

***Another side note- the notes about playing with Michael are because sometimes some of our kiddos can be a bit rough, and we have been talking about "playing nicely"  ;)
Seriously today when we read them all out loud you could see their faces beaming!!!  I LOVED IT!!!!
I hope that inspires you to start Blessing your children, your spouse, or a friend!!!  We really have enjoyed this new tradition, and can't wait to see what else God is going to do in our lives!!!!!  :)
 OK- if you haven't heard.....

For those not convinced about domestic adoption.......I encourage you to take a look at these girls.......
I mean- are they not the cutest thing ever????  (Yes both us and my cousin went through failed adoptions, we both had some heartache, but we would walk that road any day - for these precious babes that we love so very very very very dearly!!!!!!)
Adoption isn't always easy, sometimes it is, but sometimes it is hard work.  There are things that happen when you get into adoption.  Things that don't go like we planned.  Things that bring us to our knees, and yet that is where we need to be.

In the end- God knows all and He knows there is a need for families!!!  Is HE CALLING YOU????  Don't hang up or say....some day some day.....answer HIS CALL!!!!  You will never regret it!!!!!
