New Year New Challenges....and Old

So you know it is the New Year....by a few days.  That is how I roll, in fact I haven't even put together my recap of 2010 yet so this is out of order.  I am sure you won't mind :0    So here is my new challenge!  Rocking Out with my babes.  I got the idea here.  It struck me that this last year I have been struggling a lot with one, but really a few of my babes.
I don't have a rocking chair ....yet (guess what I got for a late Christmas present and it should be here in the next few days), but you don't have to have one.  Just time set aside to snuggle.  To spend one on one time alone with no interruptions.  Yeah- that is NOT easy, but making it work for me and for my kids is IMPORTANT!  Since it is really really really important.  I am going to make it work!  I am determined.  :)  Sometimes your child may not let you snuggle for longer than a few minutes- than take whatever you can get.  I am going to focus on just sitting with them, not a lot of chatter, just quiet time showing them how much I LOVE THEM!
The other challenge.... is an old challenge, but just refocusing.  You see over a year ago I read the Bible in 90 days....ok so more like 100ish.  Then after I finished I was hooked!  Then I started reading through at a slower pace.  Enjoying reading more commentaries on the scriptures and focusing more in depth on the verses.  So I am joining the Boss Your Heart Challenge from this website!  :)  If you want to know where you are going in this next year you have to boss your heart....lead yourself to focusing on God Daily!  This is a great way to do it.  There are many plans- online reading, good ol fashioned opening the Bible, plans that take a bit out of different parts of the Bible every week, chronological, front to back a few chapters at a time, and the list goes on.

You know you can go to church, have fellowship with great Christian friends, read books about your Christian walk, and live a great God focused life, but how do you really know who God is - if you don't read about HIM DAILY?  A question I had a hard time answering when I wasn't reading HIS WORD.

A word of encouragement....now that I have established a routine.....I MISS IT GREATLY when I miss a day.  It becomes part of who you are, what you do, and what you need.  Don't give up if you miss a day, or a week, or even a month.  The great part of God's word and grace is that it is EVERLASTING!  It doesn't just stop because you stopped...it continues!  So jump back in to God's arms of grace and start your time with Him again :)

Ummmm.....mommy I think something in that bag just moved????
Yep there's rascal.  As you can tell he lives up to his name!
You know the dishwasher is really fascinating if you are a kitten.
Ok so daddy knows the baby puff things are Joanna's favorite.  And he couldn't resist trying this.
 Yep, she fell for it.....
Hello, what are you doing with that camera.  I am just following this wonderful trail of yummy puffs.  What?

So as I have been reading things people are doing this next year.  I can't think of anything else I would rather be doing than the above.  Strengthening my relationship with my family and GOD!  :)  Nothing better than that for a goal in 2011!
