THE BIG ANNOUNCEMENT!!!!!

Ok so this is a hint....remember these photos from October???
and this...my cousin & her husband's new baby girl Jessa!!
My grandma.......GG as we call her
 and this.....
 All of these wonderful people
 These wonderful people too
 Look at those cute faces....
 This cute picture of lovin'......
You see all these pictures have one thing in common.......

IT'S WHERE WE WILL BE MOVING TO OFFICIALLY AS OF MARCH 15th!!!!!

Today we handed in our resignation to our board here at Uskichitto Retreat Center where we have been the directors for over 7 years.  We have truly and thoroughly LOVED our time of ministry here.  We will DEEPLY miss our campers, retreats, and summer staff!!!!!!

But, our hearts are here (in the above pictures) too- with family.....with loved ones...

We have been here on our island- 45 minutes from church,  from "town", from anyone!!  It has been hard here on our island....for that reason.  We have longed to just be a part of our church, but we can't....unless we make the 1 & 1/2 round trip each time we want to participate in anything.  We couldn't just go visit friends from church unless again we made the 1 & 1/2 round trip as well.  What about doctor appointments, dentists, orthodontist, etc.- same thing.

We will be moving to the Tampa area in Florida- near the beautiful people in the above pictures :)  We are HAPPY that we will be near family, live near other people, and be able to share life with others on a consistent basis.

Awww....you ask - do you have a home yet?
Do you know what you will be doing yet?
NOPE!  He he he---oh we have preliminary plans.  I have to, I am totally OCD about those things, but really, not real plans.  Just dreams of being and doing whatever God calls us to.  This will be a totally different life than we have lived for the last 11 years (before Camp URC we were at another camp in Iowa)!!!  So here is where we NEED YOUR PRAYERS!!!!!!!!!!

*Prayers about finding a home for our family....and you never know who else may eventually join our family ;)
*Prayers for Jason finding a job.
*Prayers for finding a church home.
*Prayers for our transition time which could just send me over the edge :)
*Prayers for the move itself.....the idea of moving a family of 10- yeah it can overload anyone's brain!

The great part about living in Florida is - I am pretty sure it would be a GREAT excuse to come visit us once we get settled!!!  :)  We would love to see you!!!!

**Also Please continue praying for Camp URC - because we LOVE this place and are EXCITED about the possibilities for this ministry.....and for the many lives that will be changed for Christ!

So there you have it- OUR BIG NEWS!!!  Now if you continue following our blog you will get to see what moving with a larger family looks like :)  he he he he- I am sure you will have many chuckles at that!!! Should be fun times..... :)

  15. So excited to watch how God is going to bless your family through this move, although I have to admit that we were hoping for Ohio! :-) We'll be praying for your sanity throughout the process - change can be hard, but it's always worth it when God is leading it, and I know that you will LOVE being near family. Blessings to all of you!

  17. Wow! Not what I was expecting at all but thrilled for you just the same. Just another day in the Wright family...attuned to God's leading and always willing to step out of the boat and trust in Him and His ways! So love that about your family.
I've been blessed to be surrounded by our families so I am really excited for each of you to experience on a constant basis...what a gift it will be!
Moving will be an experience but oh the memories you will make in the process (good and bad!) that will be recounted over and over again through the years.
Praying and cheering you on.....Go Wrights, Go Wrights, you're amazing, you're amazing, oh yeah!
    Much love!

  18. Oh I so understand your prayer requests! We are about to pick up and move our family of 7 from IN to Puerto Rico this spring. We have no idea where we will go, or what God will be calling us to do there, but we have heard Him telling us to go. My husband is from the island and has family still there, but it will be a big change for all of us! Our kids know some Spanish, but are not fluent, so that will be a challenge (for me too). We pray about adopting again there on the island, we pray about finding a place to live, for DH to get more business (self employed), etc! We are looking at moving around May, but with the freezing cold/ice storms/snow storms we've had lately, I'm ready to go NOW! Good luck on your move! I pray God's to just open up the path and you find everything you need!

  19. That is AWESOME!!! NOTHING like following God! So exciting and wonderful! When we were first married and my husband was military I got used to moving and still get the bug occasionally (dreams of moving to Africa on and off). Moving is going to be tiring, but a TOTAL blast!!! PRAYING!!!!

  23. Yay!! I am so happy for you! It sounds like a decision you feel comfortable with!! I love your attitude- you embrace the challenges!!

You know we go to Florida often in the winter! We will be just 2.5 hours south of you! I definitely can see us making the drive for a visit!! I would be thrilled to give you a big hug and visit while the children run and play on the beach!! Sounds delightful!!
We won't be going for awhile-because we are heading to China but keep it in mind for next winter!!

Saying prayers for a smooth transition for everyone and a job on the other end!!

  30. Wow, Dawn! That is huge news. How exciting to begin again. God has us all on such an adventure, doesn't he? How wonderful for all your kids to know their family and have close relationships with those you love. Awesome! Praying for sanity amidst the craziness of moving. Think of all that "stuff" you will have to purge. :)

  33. Congrats on the move! I think I'd love to live in FL. I was born there (in Jacksonville), but we moved when I was a toddler. I've been to visit a few times. In fact, we went to Orlando in November and loved it. :)
