Adoption- not just to have children...but to follow Christ.....

I would love to tell you about an amazing couple that housed Joanna and I when we were all the way in Pennsylvania- The Beaties- they are they most kind hearted, pro-adoption, prayful family- and we are forever thankful for them.  Well, a few days ago Dorean told me she had written an article on her blog, but the facebook link didn't lead me to her page.  And well you know 8 kids distract a person sometimes- in a good way of course.

So I went back to read it.......I think EVERYONE should!  So here is the link Dorean Beatties article- worth the read!!!

  1. Wonderfully written post and so true. I think a lot of people we come in contact with wonder why we, who now have 5 children, feel we "need" more kids. "Don't you have enough?" is the comment I often hear, even from church-goers, which is disheartening to say the least. If someone does not step out and help these children then what will become of them? Aren't we as Christians supposed to live our lives for others? Life is not about putting yourself first but rather looking after and doing good for one another.
    Thanks for posting the link!

  2. Sounds like the current discussion on my blog, starting with this post: http://dyingtolivebythespiritofadoption.blogspot.com/2010/08/on-face-book-tonight-i-read-discussion.html
...maybe we read the same facebook conversation ;-). Beautiful pic of you and Joanna, btw.

  3. Actually Connie- I have read your posts on this as well. It is so disheartening when the Church doesn't see it as a beautiful mission field adoption- caring for orphans and widows. I have had families come to me by e-mail hurt by what fellow Christians have said to them about their adoption journeys..... I believe it is our job to help everyone understand to the best of our ability that ALL CHILDREN ARE GOD'S!!!! Children that are biological...children that are our neighbors, children in Africa, children in South America, the child you hear about on the new report that the mother was giving her a "joint" at age 2, the child that is adopted, the child you support through Compassion, World Vision, Wiphan, ALL of them- HIS!!!
