Sometimes we forget......

Hey kids what are you looking at?
THIS!  Well hello little guy!  How are you doing?
Sometimes we forget to stop.....and look at the little things.....
Like this flower.  It stands out with its color, but it is small compared to the large span of green in the above picture.  Do we even notice?
Then I am reminded from this smile....
 and this one.....
 and this one.....
 and this one......
 and this one......
 and this one.....
 and this one......
 and this one........
and this one..........

That we are all colorful!  We all have a story!  Each and every person was placed here to stand out in different ways.  Some of us have a tougher time accepting truth about who we are...who we are meant to be.  Some of us struggle with how to trust others, or how to use our muscles, or how to talk, or how to read, or how to sit still for more than 10 seconds, or how to relate to others, or how to share what is really going on inside.  Some of us have no problems with this.....so we forget.  We forget to look deeper.  To look at all the growth and change that has already happened!

It becomes sooo easy to see the negative because it plays over and over again in our heads.  How about the positive things.  Somehow they seem to get buried deep beneath the surface.

It is our job as parents to dig....dig deep!  Dig down into WHO they really are and are meant to be.  To be their cheerleader, their "go to" person when they have questions- even when it is a million times a day ;), to be their teacher of life, to show them how to love, to show them how to trust again, to show them how much they are worth, to show them just how amazing they really are, to show them GOD!!!!!!!  Oh.....yes you say- well that is easier said than done.  I AGREE!  It is, but it doesn't take away the fact that it is our job!  Trust me I am speaking to the myself!

Dear God,
When I fail, remind me again and again what my job really is.  When I doubt myself, remind me that YOU are my strength.  When I try and try and try some more and it never seems good enough, remind me that YOU DIED for me to be good enough.  When I really want my child or my hubby to see how much I love them and it isn't getting through, reach down and touch them with your love for me!
